Cardinals fly high over Tigers in 4-3 victory

MARSHALL – On a nice breezy warm Thursday afternoon, the Marshall Tigers tennis team have hit a rough patch in the season, losing today to the Luverne Cardinals 4-3, marks their eighth loss in 12 matches this season.
The Tigers got off to a great start by winning their first two singles matches of the day with senior Reagan Loft winning in straight sets 6-0=6-2 and sophomore teammate Taylor Depover also winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Giving the Tigers the early lead in the match.
Then the Cardinals responded.
Winning the next four out of five matches to secure the victory over the Tigers 4-3. The doubles team of juniors Olivia Penske and Eliza Holmgren we’re the only team to earn a victory for the Tigers winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. The Marshall Tigers are back in action on Monday evening as they travel to Granite Falls to take on the Yellow Medicine East Sting.
