MARSHALL-- In the first set the Tigers got off to a 11-1 start behind the kills made by Leah Jones and Morgan Bjella. The Cougars wouldn’t be able to recover, losing the first set 25-11.

The second and third set would repeat the same pattern, the Cougars we’re fighting an uphill battle against the Tigers all night.

Senior Leah Jones would lead the team in kills with 12. Teammate Morgan Bjella had nine kills. Lauren Wherry led the Tigers in Assists with 35 for the contest.

Head coach Dan Westby commented on the team performance tonight.

“We we’re wondering how we would come out from the start after the big weekend,” Westby said. “I thought our kids were focused and dial in from the get go. It was good to see.”

Westby added that despite winning their are always things you can clean up and work on. He would like to see his team serve better and also continue to work on defense.

The Marshall Tigers are now (16-1) and will host the New Ulm Eagles on Thursday evening
