I was so glad to have NBA basketball back!
This game lived up to the billing.
The Los Angeles Lakers came out blazing in the first quarter and scored 35 points, exhibiting their dominance as the best overall team in the Western Conference. Anthony Davis, power forward for the Lakers, scored 14 of his 34 in the opening quarter.
Then the Clippers showed why they are one of the best defensive teams in the league by locking up the Lakers to just 41 points over the next 2 quarters and erasing a 12 point first quarter deficit to be all tied at the end of three.
Game went back and forth for the entire fourth quarter, Paul George, small forward for the Clippers, hit a game tying three pointer to square the score up at 101.
The ensuing possession, Lebron James would shoot a shot, miss it and follow it up with a rebound lay-up to put the Lakers ahead for good.
Clippers did have one last chance as Paul George missed a game winning 3 pointer at the Buzzer. he finished with 30 point and made six treys.
His teammate Kawhi Leonard, finished the game with 28 points, but was defended well by Lebron James on last possession of game and had to pass the ball.
The Lakers were without Avery Bradley due to opt-out, Rajon Rondo because of injury.
The Clippers were missing there two big time bench production players in Montrez Harrell and Lou Williams.
The win gives the Lakers one more game to win to clinch the number one seed heading into the playoffs.
Both teams are in action Saturday night, as the Clippers play the Pelicans at 6 P.M and Lakers play against Raptors at 8:30 P.M
Both games are Eastern Time.
Fun fact about me buying my prom suit in Los Angeles
Definitely one of my favorite places to be, being from San Diego, most of the time I went to LA was to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. I also had the opportunity to go to Disneyland a bunch of times, which is right before you hit Los Angeles. It is also the place where I bought my prom suit, went to the barter district and was able to talk down someone on price and was able to buy it for 95 originally 200. Had a funtime that day and had a great prom night too!
