Klivert Many's go-ahead 1-yard touchdown run lifted Etowah to an upset win over Alpharetta 12-6 on Friday. The victory was the first of the season for the Eagles (1-8, 1-4 Region 5AAAAAAA), and it allowed them to avoid the first winless season since Many finished the game with a tough 79 yards on 25 carries. He said he wasn't expecting to get the ball on the game winner, but his line cleared the way. "When (coach) called the play, I really wasn't too sure about it to be honest, he said. However, once I broke the first tackle, I knew there was no way I wasn't going to score. I had to score and do it for my teammates to help get this win.

"My O-line been tested all year, undersized, but the played a (great) game. The opened holes for me when there really wasn't any. My guys Tyler Catton, Jaden Field, Jacob Putnam, CR Metcalf and Tate Nelms all played well and I love them to death." The Raiders' six points were their lowest scoring output of the season, and they were intercepted twice by the Eagles' Lane Cantrell and Blake Bohannon, who also had a 50-yard catch on the same drive that Etowah took the lead for good. The Eagles defense also had three sacks and held the Raiders to 130 yards of total offense. Coach Matt Kemper talked about his defense and how proud he was of his team's victory tonight

"They played outstanding," said coach Matt Kemper, who got his first win at the helm of the Eagles' program. This unit has played well all year long. The coaches have done a fantastic job of coaching them up and players are executing. I'm just glad were able to get a win."

Alpharetta's lone score came on a 5-yard passing touchdown from quarterback Ben Guthrie to Alexander Lidback. The loss dropped the Raiders to 4-5 and 2-3 in region play. They will be the No. 4 seed and will travel to Collins Hill to open the playoffs next week.
