MILTON -- Milton had little trouble on its homecoming night, dominating Woodstock in a 68-7 rout Friday.
The Eagles (8-1, 4-0 Region 5AAAAAAA) had 35 points in the first quarter behind running back Jordan McDonald's 79-yard run and two interceptions returned for touchdowns of 7 yards by Gillies Tchio and 79 yards by Bryce Thornton.
Receiver Adam Freas also had two touchdowns on the night -- one receiving and one rushing -- for the Eagles, who can clinch the region championship with a win over Cherokee next week.
Milton tacked on 27 more points behind explosive runs from McDonald (52 yards) and Scott Moskowitz (41 yards) before leading 62-0 at halftime.
Woodstock (0-9, 0-4) came out on their first possession of the second half and had a 12-play, 65-yard drive to score its lone touchdown of the night. The drive was capped off by running back Sharod Elly getting into the end zone from 2 yards out.
Elly finished with a team-high 36 rushing yards on five attempts. Woodstock had 142 yards of total offense for the night.
The Wolverines will host Roswell next week to conclude the season.
